Re-Prairie

Re-Prairie is a puzzle game about rewilding a desolate environment inspired by the prairie ecology found here in Northern Illinois. Plant golden feather grass, little bluestems, and milkweed as you gradually grow in and around the human debris that clogs the landscape. The game takes mechanical inspiration from puzzle games like Dorfromantik and Terra Nil.

This game was made for LowRezJam 2024, particularly focusing on the Peaceful and You Are The Environment themes.

Absolutely loving what you cooked up here, the puzzle itself is nice, and the ambient created is just lovely. The ambiance, the sounds, everything is just perfect.

I somewhat want to chime in as well with some simpler view, because looking into empty tiles in the middle of grass is kinda tricky, but otherwise, really cool project! Well done!

I appreciate it! Thanks for playing.

Definitely agree with all the comments asking for a simpler view, especially as a toggle or something. :)

This game is really peaceful and nice! I felt very cozy with all the ambient noise, just trying to plant my grasses.

I did feel a bit confused about how to interpret the symbols in the bottom left - I knew they were goals of mine, but I didn’t know how to accomplish them. Didn’t stop me from having fun though!!

Thanks for trying it out! The goals were a bit of a last minute add. Maybe in a future update I can add a legend to the menu screen.
